Short-term Missions
Our role:
OMEGA facilitates Short Term Mission Trips and specializes in guiding you through your mission experience, from start to finish.
1. Pre-trip:
Choosing the correct project is extremely important. OMEGA will work with you to find the project and environment that appropriately meets the goals of your mission team. Once the project is agreed upon, OMEGA will work with your team leader to help facilitate pre-trip group meetings, cultural orientation, and to assist in organizing travel plans. OMEGA will also make arrangements for in-country accommodations including housing, meals, and transportation. This involvement in the planning process allows OMEGA to tailor the trip to best suit your particular group needs.
2. In country:
All mission teams will be met at the airport and accompanied by an OMEGA staff member who will host the team and is responsible for all in-country logistics throughout their stay. OMEGA staff member will also liaise with the team leader and community leaders in order to meet the goals of both the team and community.
All short-term mission teams will have the opportunity to participate in the following:
- Engage in pre-trip preparations and meetings for team building.
- Work side by side with the local community on specific projects.
- Participate in attending a local church services by preaching, teaching, singing or giving a testimony.
- Eat and drink local cuisine, visit local homes, view and/or participate in local customs and practices
- Enjoy a time of Rest and Reflection (safari or other activity)
3. Post-trip:
After being completely immersed in a different culture, it is vital for team members to have a chance to process what they saw and experienced on the mission field before re-integrating back into their own cultures. We encourage mission teams to take the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and activities the country has to offer. We also strongly recommend that every mission team to take several days to rest and reflect on their experiences as individuals or as a team. On return to your home country, the OMEGA staff person will follow up with project updates on a regular basis through newsletter, so that the mission team can continue to be informed of the progress and success of their project.
4. OMEGA tailors individual cross-cultural experiences
Many people desire to actually live and work in another culture for an extended period of time. You may be looking for an adventure, a chance to serve through using your specific skills, or an opportunity to fulfill a school requirement. If you are interested in pursuing the possibilities for an extended inter-cultural experience, OMEGA can help you arrange an appropriate placement where you and your skills will have the most impact.
5. OMEGA creates partnership opportunities
Partnership (n.): a relationship involving close cooperation between parties having specified and joint rights and responsibilities
Miriam Webster Dictionary
There are countless rural communities engaged in sustainable development projects, but are simply lacking the means to complete their projects. With a little assistance and encouragement from partner groups like you, they can achieve important milestones. If you would like to partner with a specific project, church, or organization in Tanzania to provide long-term assistance to a sustainable development project, OMEGA can help make this dream come true by being the liaison between you and the group you wish to reach. OMEGA staff in Tanzania can introduce you to the type of project, church, or community with whom you wish to partner. OMEGA can help to facilitate this partnership from start to finish.
6. OMEGA builds relationship
Some people come into our lives and leave footprints in our hearts and we are never the same.”
Flavia Weedn

Short-term mission trips to Tanzania, Africa:
We take the worry out of your short term missions by facilitating the logistics for teams.
Is God calling you to go on a mission trip and especially a mission trip to Africa? How bewildering can this be especially when you do not know what to do, where to go, which book to read or whom to ask? OMEGA eliminates that worry by facilitating all logistics for you and your team to focus on the fundraising and team building preparation for the trip.
We provide opportunities on our short-term mission trips to put your Faith in Action.
Mission Teams are immersed into the culture and life of a community, meeting people who help them see God from a totally new perspective. Their faith will be confronted, and their eyes will be opened as they watch God move in these new and unfamiliar environments.
We connect people like you and gifts within the body of Christ for Christian service in Tanzania.
We are committed to helping you as an individual, or as a team to grow closer to Christ through a life changing experience on a one week or two weeks Mission Trip. Your encounter will create unforgettable memories and friendships that you will cherish for the years to come while worshiping and growing together in God’s name. It also lets you see how God uses the experience of serving others to change lives in both you and the people you serve.
We identify, evaluate, and best use your resources in the needed community.
Team Members work on projects in the community that desperately need help. These projects are part of focus to produce real and long-term change that these communities need.
We offer Vision Trips that help you visit the projects, meet the leaders, see and understand the needs in these areas; OMEGA handles all the logistics for such trips.
