OMEGA
facilitates Short Term Mission Trips and specializes in guiding you
through your mission experience, from start to finish.
PRE-TRIP: Choosing the correct project is extremely important. OMEGA will work with you to find the project and environment that is most appropriate to meet the goals of your mission team. Once a project has been agreed upon, OMEGA will work with your team leader to help facilitate pre-trip group meetings, cultural orientation, and to assist in organizing travel plans. OMEGA will also make arrangements for in-country accommodations including housing, meals, and transportation. This joint involvement in the planning process allows OMEGA to tailor the trip to best suit the needs of your particular group.
IN COUNTRY: All mission teams will be met at the airport and accompanied by an OMEGA staff member who will host the team and be responsible for all logistics throughout their stay. The OMEGA staff member will also liaise with the team leader and community leaders in order to meet the goals of both the team and community.
All short-term mission teams will have the opportunity to participate in the following:
POST-TRIP: After being completely immersed in a different culture, it is vital that team members have a chance to process what they have seen and experienced before re-integrating back into their own cultures. OMEGA encourages mission teams to take the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and activities the country has to offer. Therefore, OMEGA strongly recommends that every mission team plan several days to rest and reflect on their experiences as individuals and as a team. On returning to the home country, OMEGA will follow up with project updates on a regular basis through the team leader, church, or organization, so that the mission team can continue to be informed of the progress/success of their project.
Many people desire to actually live and work in another culture for an extended period of time. You may be looking for an adventure, a chance to serve through using your specific skills, or an opportunity to fulfill a school requirement. If you are interested in pursuing the possibilities for an extended inter-cultural experience, OMEGA will partner with you to arrange an appropriate placement where you and your skills will have the most impact.
Partnership (n.): a relationship involving close cooperation between parties having specified and joint rights and responsibilities — Miriam Webster Dictionary
There are countless rural communities engaged in sustainable development projects, but are simply lacking the means to complete their projects. With a little assistance and encouragement from partner groups, they can achieve important milestones. If you would like to partner with a specific project, church, or organization in Tanzania and provide long-term assistance to a sustainable development project, OMEGA can help make this happen by being the liaison between you and the group you wish to reach. OMEGA staff in Tanzania can introduce you to the type of project, church, or community with whom you wish to partner. OMEGA can help to facilitate this partnership from start to finish.
Some people come into our lives and leave footprints in our hearts and we are never the same.”
