Why bring a team to Africa? Volunteering with OMEGA (as a missions team, a college or business group, or even just a group of friends) can have life changing implications for all involved. Tanzania is a country that provides the opportunity for you or your organization to make a personal contribution at the global level, to experience hands-on learning about another country and culture, and to exchange ideas with people you might not otherwise meet.
Working in Tanzania is often a life-changing experience that brings insight into cultures and needs of a developing nation all while building important and long-lasting relationships within your team. You and your team will share enthusiasm, time, skills, and energy — and give of yourself in a way that allows you to effect positive change in your life, and the lives of Tanzanians.
Making a difference can be as simple as spending time with orphans, sharing love and affection, or practicing Basic English with students of all ages. There's also an opportunity to pool your efforts and resources to construct a classroom, paint a school, or build a soccer field. The possibilities to serve are only limited by your imagination. Let OMEGA turn your dreams of helping others into reality.
Following are current opportunities to serve:

Description |

|
Tuamkeni is looking for any work teams to help build a two-classroom nursery school. Tuamkeni is located in a slum area of Arusha, which would allow accommodation to be in a local rented house, hostel or hotel in Arusha. Teams would work with the local community in the construction of the school, teaching the orphans in the existing school, and assisting the local teachers. There will be opportunity to interact with children throughout your stay. |

|
Mswakini is looking for young adult work teams to help the community build three additional classrooms. As this is a rural location, accommodation would be in tents with latrines and camp showers. Teams would live, eat, and work alongside the local Massai to build several classrooms, latrines, and assist with English classes in the primary school. |
Malambo: Help for the Massai
|
Malambo Primary School is in the middle of Massai land, situated between the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti plains. Angelika, the missionary who started Help for the Massai, began the school and is looking for teams to help build three additional classrooms, sports fields, and a kitchen / cafeteria. Teams would live in tents within the "Help for the Massai" compound, use latrines and camp showers. There would be opportunities for teaching, evangelism in the surrounding villages, and helping with daily medical clinics. |
Compassion International
|
Compassion International Tanzania has opened the door for OMEGA to help their local partners in building student centers, which are operated and managed by the local churches. There are opportunities to live, interact, and work with local churches in their ministries, build kitchens and classrooms, within slums, urban, or rural areas. |
